Most Gracious God,

We thank you today for this great country that offers us freedom
of action, freedom to win, freedom to lose, freedom to express
ourselves as we remain vigilant to protect and respect the rights
of people everywhere.

Give us the wisdom to discern truth and justice as individuals, to
support or advise the leaders of government at any level when
opportunity is presented.

We especially pray that your presence be felt as our elected
representatives consult regarding the safety, honor and welfare
of the people of our country. Direct their judgment in faithful
ways of service to our great Republic.

Enable us to listen with attention rather than intention.

Enlighten us to our responsibility for the freedom we enjoy.

Enhance our ability to share, with love, our encounter with
adventure.
