In 1971 a group of politically interested Republican
women, headed by Ann Pinnock, at that time the
Florida State Republican Committeewoman, decided
it was time to form an organization to provide a
forum for themselves and other interested women.

As a result of this decision, on February 24, 1971,
an organizational meeting took place at The
Caboose restaurant in Fern Park.

There were 14 original members. They were: Ann
Pinnock, Jackie Martinson, Paula Hawkins, Lila
Buchanan, Budsy Kirchman, Jean Bryant, Rosemarie
Bumbaugh, Mallie Salter, Gretchen Tope, Dede
Schaffner, Patsy Wagner, Marian Eggers, Suzie
Gibbs and Doris Salfi.

The History of the Suburban Republican Women's Club, Federated
The Suburban Republican Women's Club, Federated (originally known
as the Greater Seminole Republican Women's Club) was chartered in
March 1971.

The original name was the Greater Seminole Republican Women's Club.
Later that year, after being granted a Charter by the Florida
Federation of Republican Women, the name was changed. The FFRW
was an affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Women.

On June 7, 2006 the Florida New Federation of Republican Women
received their charter from the NFRW. The members of SRWCF voted
unanimously to join the FNFRW.

Note: At this time, as we go to print (February 10, 2007), the FFRW
no longer has a charter from the NFRW in the State of Florida. They
are involved in litigation.
